I was born in New Jersey to a teacher and a software engineer. I graduated from Princeton University, where I majored in chemistry with a certificate in materials science engineering. I worked briefly in pharmaceutical consulting before attending medical school at Virginia Tech-Carilion. During medical school, I also completed a Master of Public Health. I stayed at the Carilion Clinic in Virginia to complete my residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology.

My approach to patient care is centered on patient education and empowerment. By explaining diagnostic tests, procedures, and medications, I give my patients the tools needed to take ownership of their conditions.

At home, I am a husband, a father, and a connoisseur of Dad jokes. I hope you can stomach them. I enjoy exploring local eateries, running, and technology.

Dr. Bansal joined Northwest Gastroenterology in 2022.
