I was born and raised in Honolulu, went to undergrad at the University of Colorado at Boulder (go Buffs!), then returned home to attend medical school at the University of Hawaii. My wife and I then moved to New England for Internal Medicine residency, ultimately completing a Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Connecticut.
We then moved to Colorado, where I worked for four years, before moving to Bellingham in 1998 to join Northwest Gastroenterology. I retired from full-time practice at the end of 2019, though have been fortunate to come back to work intermittently since 2021. I value interactions with patients, as well as the camaraderie of the group and all the people who work here!
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and photography.
